I have the m-sport package with air suspension. I do not think it does anything ... am I wrong? I always leave it on sport+ mode anyways.
I am going to end up buying my 19 5.0 when my lease is over. It's over in May. I can buy it for $58K , 99.5K MSRP. I was not planning to do this but the market sucks. Also the m-sport cosmetics is a must... I think the X5 just looks ugly without it. |

as of 2013 on the M3 it worked. Don't get too caught up in sales jargon . The variable rates is probably barely noticeable as was the case in the M3 EDC shocks that had variable (on ZCP) and fixed rates (non-ZCP).

What I can tell you from the reviewing the damping rates, it's not significant enough to make much of a difference. Standard is fixed and 2VF is variable.

Driving in Sport or Sport+ mode lowers the air suspension by 20mm / -0.787" or from 8.4" to 7.6" of ground clearance. X5 wire air suspension are equipped with Vibracoustic 3-chamber air suspension strut, ride height sensor and also VDP (vertical dynamics platform) But you also have to understand that the premise of air suspension is maintaining a constant vehicle ride height while driving and with load. The inherent quality of air suspension is that it also provides a comfort ride. With BMWs current implementation of air suspension, it's never going to provide flat cornering response.

Thanks everyone! Life is too short not to get the M package. $64k vs $70k. The heck with it. If I'm selling the GX460 because it's so boring to drive, why would I get an X5 without the M package?
And I think I know the answer, but for a daily driver, definitely get the G05 50i over a 2017/2018 X5M right? (F85?). They'd be roughly the same price so it's an option, but I feel like this is a much better option for a daily driver that will see 10k miles per year. Maybe 12k at most. When the warranty is up, I'll probably modify them a decent amount (at least tune, intake, exhaust, at least. Haven't dug into that much yet)

Well, I did it. It's official. I wired the money Friday and signed the paperwork. Overnighting it back to them today and I'll hopefully be driving it in a week.
The only question is whether or not I should keep the GX. It's in incredible condition for a 10 year old car with 100k miles on it, and I seriously doubt there is anything more reliable for $27k. It will probably run another 200k miles with nothing but tires, brake pads and an annual oil change. Blackstone results analysis was great. My office is 2 miles away, but about once a week I need to drive about 80 miles RT and once to twice a month I need to drive 200-300 miles RT for work. And the track is about 150 miles RT. I could save the GX for the longer hauls, but then I come back to the whole point of buying a nicer car- to drive it! Would be nice to have for driving/leaving it at the airport. Only bad thing is, I'd have to keep insurance on it and fairly high liability due to umbrellas requirements. Probably $1500/year or so. At that rate, I may as well just rent a car for those long trips, though I've heard those rates are insane too.

It's shocking how well these things stay together. My previous GX had almost 180k miles I think. If you drove it, you wouldn't think anymore more than 40k- and that's not an exaggeration.

I know some cars with air suspension that rises or lowers the car, could face issues when jacking it on 2 post lifts. But as far as I understand, the system my car has (S2VF Adaptive M Chasis) does not have any warnings regarding lifting Any feedback will be appreciated before I pull the trigger on the Quick Jack

I just got a brand new 2023 custom built X50i with M Sport package, executive package, parking assist package, wireless charger, and climate control in back seats for 70k. (Out the door 70k. That includes all taxes and fees)

That sounds likes a $95-$100k car spec. To get out the door for $70k, selling price is like $63k. That is 30k off msrp or 30% off. Hmm sounds improbable or al least ver difficult to me too. If I was to get this kind of deal, I will least it because all I would be paying is interest, all depreciation is already absorbed by the selling price discount

I think the OP is in the UK. At least there is a Windermere there.
Edit: Never mind, going through his previous posts I see he is from Florida.

No real big story. Just an awesome dealer at BMW Cantonville in Maryland. I own a real estate company so I am a pro at negotiating. But yes - can’t believe I scored such a good deal!
