Looks like the conclusion in that thread is that it can't be done in Bimmercode. You can get a menu but no selection.

Bimmercode let you turn on ASD but it didn’t do anything. I would rather paying 100 than messing with those code changes in the posted link even if it works. Not worth the trouble imo. Here is an update for those who are interested in this iconic sound. I drove my wife around today in comfort mode. Sometimes I did have to accelerate but she did not react at all. She’s super sensitive to these noises but it wasn’t noticeable to bother her. We didn’t have any other sound at time either.

Need to code those 2 values, DISPLAY_CONFIGURABILITY_ENGINE_SOUND need to be set to active to make a selection. Done by myself and works as described here, it controls ASD. You can set to Sporty so all modes would sound Sporty, either Eco or Comfort, or other way around

You should update the thread since it, and other threads/posts, seem to say it can't be done. That will save some folks some money.

Finally pulled the trigger on this feature, must admit I'm loving it. Highly recommend the $100. Completely changes the drive for me, artificial maybe, but sounds phenomenally better in the car than before. Comfort mode is a tad louder after the download but sport plus roars. I kind of like the fact that it is really only heard in the vehicle and not out the exhaust pipes, who needs the extra attention.
