Best Color for X5 & why (personal preference)

BMW just added more colors to the configurator for the 40i and 50e. When the LCI launched, it was only white and gray colors. Now Tanzanite Blue and Ametrin Metallic is back! Note Ametrin was not available to order nor through Individual for the 45e.

I thought I was the only one. Especially without the M-Sport Package (and the color was presented in the BMW Welt on the X5 without it) and with all the chrome trim it makes the car look insanely dull, boring and old.

Absolutely all that chrome I thought I was stepping back in time looking at a Buick for a minute, it was a flashback between the blue in the chrome I was expecting a 90 year old woman to step out of it..

This lci revision is hideous

If you live in Manhattan or Brooklyn then I would suppose that you would cheering for those colors. I cant even imagine your car being named after the city that you live in.

No mention of Manhattan Green. It’s understated, not beautiful. With the ceramic, it’s staying clean and I think it toughens up the look a little. Baseball glove interior. (Cognac)

We heavily considered the Tanzanite, but couldn’t justify the 5K custom cost.

Any color except White I’m so bored of seeing cars in white at least where I live everybody buy white they all look like refrigerators very generic and on occasion that I have bought white I get very bored they don’t look any different, dirty or clean and I have no interest in cleaning one for some reason so I just stay away from it. My personal choice is the Matt finishes I love them all. Another trending color that has caught my eye is the Manhattan green with the black interior or cognac interior, can’t go wrong with either one

I got my 2024 LCI 50e in Skyscraper Grey and it looks amazing, silver metallic and shiny in the sunlight and darker more matte in the shade and looks amazing with the M blacked out package

Donington Grey

My 7 series was in this color. Absolutely stunning. I loved it. Would have paid extra (even the bonkers prices BMW charges for the ‘true’ individual paints). Yet, this wasn’t an option for the M60i. Donington seems to not be available even as one of the individual paints for M60i

Chosing the paint color took me a month. This was the second hardest selection for me. The first was the seats - comfort or the M multifunction ones. The trouble with the former is that they don’t provide too much lateral support (had them in the 7 series). The trouble with the latter is that with M60i they are available only in two colors - black or tartufo (unlike on the proper X5M, where they can be optioned in a number of colors). I wanted my car interior in ivory (loved it in my 7… note to self, I bring back memories of that car too often, must be love…)

Settled for Tanzanite with tartufo interior, and I feel it’s a compromise, but one I can live with
