Phytonic Blue

Hi All,

I'm a few days away from pulling the trigger and making an order..

Phytonic blue with tartufo extended merino leather.. 20 inch wheels because I'm in Northern NY and there's tons of snow.

Problem is that I can't decide whether I like the extended shadowline trim or the cerium gray trim with this paint color. Never seen either in person.

Any opinions out there? Leaning toward shadowline, but I think that might only look good with black wheels.

I think both look good and it depends on the type of person. People who like the dark versions might be better off with the shadowline

I think Phytonic Blue looks great with extended shadowline. The blue an black makes a nice contrast, making the blue really pop. Here's mine:

As much as I like Cerium grey trim, they are a pain in the arse to keep clean and water spot easily unless you apply some type of protectant or ceramic coating to them.

Not too many PB in the forums but I'd go extended shadowline.

I have your exact same spec. Phytonic Blue with extended shadowline and Tartufo Merino. Regular 20" (non-black) wheels. I love it!

I'm not sure Cerium is even an option in the US market. They would be an aftermarket mod if you wanted it.

Shadowline. I need to replace our chrome grill. No idea why they went with chrome from factory.

Black always looks current. I don't think cerium will age as well style wise.

Cerium trim - grill, side mirror caps, side vent, and exhaust finishers - is standard on USA X5 M50i models and extended shadowline option.

ah, thanks.

I was spec'ing X5 45e and didn't see that option, so I assumed it was the case for all trims.

I've also gone blue with black grills etc.... looks more aggressive on the m50i

Kept the cerium trim on my PB G01 M40i. Too many blacked out SUVs around me, the cerium stands out more.

Next week my new Phytonic, m pack, shadowline with white merino leather will come, i have 21 -741 for summer and 20 -740 orbit grey for winter tires. But i would like to have black 22. but not possible on 45e.
I think the blue and black is cool and where i live there is zero phytonics at all, 99% of all X5 are Black, Grey or White. I have only seen X3 in Phytonic in real life. There are actually zero Phytonic for sale of pre owned in Norway at the moment.

Bimmelim Did you order the 741 from factory and then buy the 740's or the opposite? And, do you notice much difference in how they drive, or your electric range, etc?
I'm debating between 740 vs 741 or other on my Blue 45e on order. BTW, I have seen 22's on a 45e, but I know BMW doesn't offer it as an option . . . I wonder why?
