Coffee interior, 20" wheels.

I keep building both vehicles and I wonder if the Msport is too aggressive? I seek a classy look. Both vehicles would be loaded and custom ordered. Thoughts?
The alpine white actually looks better and it's a free option with the m sport and black shadow line trim

Most of the G05s I see are xline with base wheels. IMO, it doesn't look too bad. When I happen across a xline with 21s and wheel arches, that's a very good looking car.

IMO, the F15 and E70 xlines with wheel arches and the large wheels looks perfect, as those generations' M sport bumpers make the car look frumpy, but for the G05 I prefer the MSport.

Seriously though, it's just preference as xline looks pretty good, especially with the chrome.

Also note, with the E70, for LCI, BMW replaced lots of the black plastic trim to color match, so I'd expect that for the G05

If money was no object, the X5M would be my preferred model line, especially the vertical reflectors in the rear.

I don't mind the black plastic cladding around the wheel arches. I think it adds a nice off-road character to it. The X Line front is still impressive too. But at certain angles, the rear looks like a massive unattractive flat slab and to me is the biggest let-down of the X Line. The silver trim on the side skirts also isn't bright enough in my opinion, and the lack of body colour there makes the vehicle look a little on the 'slim' side at certain angles. So... between the 2 if money wasn't a problem I'd go M Sport. I recently posted in another thread that I just couldn't justify US$15k extra that they charge for the M Sport locally.

While some said white doesn't look good on the X Line, I actually prefer the black and white contrasting 'colours' to keep things simple. Phytonic blue is also nice imo, and would go to hide a bit of the black plastic trim a bit more.
Nice build! Every pretty!

Totally a personal preference and cost preference. Msport sure look better. Xline look good in less color option. But let's be realistic, if Msport is a no cause option, how may get xline?

i can't appreciate xLine's use of black plastic contrasting wheel fender trims. not at this price point. that's a Jeep design (no offense to Jeep owners; I've owned two)

I agree, that shouldn't even be an option at this price point. Just looks cheap to me with the plastic. Not to offend anyone just not my cup of tea.

LCI typically fixes this...

my understanding in that M Sport comes standard with same brakes/calipers as xLine in all markets?

It's market dependent but recall maybe just USA market - where it's a $650 option for xLine and M Sport models, standard on M50i.

Other markets like UK it's included in the package pricing.

in terms of the U.S. 45e, does it come with larger brakes as standard compared to the standard brakes of the 40i (regardless of M Sport versus xLine)?

Correct, specifically the front calipers:

45e standard front brakes are upgraded, identical to M Sport brakes but in silver and w/o ///M logo - larger front discs are also included but not as large as M Sport.

X5 45e or 45e with 3AC tow hitch:
Front fixed 4 piston, front discs 374x36 + rear discs 345x24, lightweight ventilated

X5 45e with 2NH M Sport brake
Front fixed 4 piston, front discs 395x36 + rear discs 370x24, lightweight ventilated

I actually wish there is a mixed version. I liked the front of the x-line and the rear of the M-package. Anyone?

Spend 250.-300. and order a black OEM kidney grille for the xline and snap it in if cost is the issue. See if you like the look. You can save 4,200. off the Msport package by purchasing a black grille. Your line will become a "tweener" = half xline and part Msport. Some have done this. Maybe someone can post a photo.

A black grill and the m sport fender flares would make a huge difference. HUGE. Those two simple mods would change the entire look of the x line.

You could easily wrap the window trim and you'd really have a special looking x5. Have you thought about powder coating the wheels?

There's lots you can (easily and cheaply) do.

Hmmm, thanks for the advise!! Not really, haven't made up my mind on what to do with my car for now.

I am so new (and shocked) to the whole BMW world.

Regardless, still prett & is the ultimate driving machine.
