Visible Differences between X5 xDrive40i 2021 and 2022 Model
It took me 2 weeks to figure out differences between X5 X5 xDrive40i's 2021 and 2022 Models.
2022 does not have: ------------------------- 1. Front fog light: Though in 2021 model fog light is just a placeholder. In 2022 they have removed the light itself. 2. Button to flatten backseat from boot: In 2021 Model you could flatten the back seat by just pulling a lever like button. But 2022 is missing that lever. They have a X sign in that place in 2022 model .. don't know what is the use of it. 3. Wireless charging pad in dashboard. Please educate me if you find out more missing / new features in 2022 models. Last edited by debayanmitra; 08-29-2021 at 03:52 PM.. |

All MY vehicles have had a single 12V outlet in the boot on the right side. MY21 had fog lights - what this placeholder? MY22 fogs were removed

MY21 has fog lights, but dealer says that never works.. actual foglight is placed inside the headlamp section. In MY22 it’s a black piece of plastic (what I mentioned as Placeholder) I am really sad about BMW removing the switch to flatten rear seats from boot in MY22… |

That’s bizarre. They’re outside and do work. Sounds like they need to sell their 22

I doubt the money grab. They did lower the pricing while competitors removing similar features are still raising prices.

I wish they just used a smooth gloss panel so that it blends in better instead of the honeycomb pattern. It doesn't look right in there.

I don't think it looks bad having the fog lights removed, particularly if you're going for the blacked out look w extended shadowline. At first I thought it would cheapen the look of the front end, but it surprisingly turned out fine.

I agree - I even went so far as to order the lights and stopped short putting in. The 22 is not equipped for them and I didn't want to deal with warranty issues even though a lease. Here is the proof |

Where did you see the price drop? I see that 22 X line starts at 59,400 just like 21 models. I read it somewhere... if you go to a supermarket and notice certain items haven't changed prices, it's most likely because they put less in that item. Bmw is no difference.

I wonder if the below is the reason.
...The falling cost of producing batteries for electric vehicles, combined with dedicated production lines in carmarkers’ plants, will make them cheaper to buy, on average, within the next six years than conventional cars, even before any government subsidies, BloombergNEF found. |
