Happy reading my friend .
Yes, I found some pretty good video tutorials on E-Sys. However, I also chatted with BimmerCode and asked why warning chime coding was not supported in their app for G05 while the app clearly supported it for other models, e. g. G01 and F15. They told me that when they tried to code it for G05 (I assume they tried to modify SOUND_SIGNAL_SET), some of the sounds got lost completely like the PDC’s ones, and that’s the reason they don’t support it for G05. So, has anyone been able to successfully code the warning chime using E-Sys or some other software and not lose any sounds completely? I don’t want to go crazy with E-Sys just to find out at the end that the warning chime coding is not really possible on G05.

How does one code with Esys?

This is what BimmerCode support told me about why the app doesn’t support warning chime coding for G05:

“It does not work for cars with MGU headunit and RAM.”

By “does not work” they elaborated that they tried to code the warning chime which indeed changed some sounds but some, like the PDC ones, stopped working altogether. So, anyone knows how G01 (which BummerCode seems to support warning chime coding for) is different from G05 in relation to having MGU headunit and RAM?

Found an answer: G01 has NBT Evo (iDrive 6) head unit - quite surprising as I was sure all G series models had an MGU head unit (iDrive 7) but it turns out that quite a few don’t.

When in accessory (aka standby) mode, some ECUs are on, but most aren't. In diagnostic mode, all ECUs are on. If you are not in diagnostic mode, your coding tools will only see a very small number of ECUs rather than all of them. With 42+ ECUs, that's not a complexity you ought to want to deal with — just be in diagnostic mode.

Can it be used - yes.
Should it be used - no.
Right now no where for Launcher Pro 3.7 or Esysx.

Does anyone have a list of updated coding specifically for the anti-dazzle feature. G05 build 3/2021 and having some issues with the coding being accepted and giving errors. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I believe people have succeeded coding anti-dazzle with ProTool

Is it possible to code 2 cars ( F15 and G05) using the same Bimmercode iPhone app?

Will I lose the previous backups done to my G05?

Question - I bought esysx back in spring when it supported sw version 03/2021 and coded some features. If I update my car to 07/2021, will I be able to still code the same feature or mappings will be different? If so, should I upgrade my esysx? And can esysx be only updated via paying them for a license update? Thanks!

Functions do move around so no guarantees you will be able to code the same features.

I thought you got one free update, but currently all Esysx products are listed as unavailable as team works on new release.

EsysX will probably be down for a while due to a death of one of the major programmers/decoders that worked on the project. That's why it's not available to purchase. Hopefully they will find someone else to continue with their great product.

They are currently working on EsysX Cloud. No new mapping yet available after 21-03 and all purchases suspended.

It looks like they are getting close with the cloud version. The blog mentions registering so I have inquired. There are a number of folders in the BDC_Body3 and then the HU_MGU modules that aren't accessible to me anymore. When I read the modules it gives me an error. I don't believe reading the coding data for any of the modules should be impacted by doing it with the engine running.

Engine should be running to read out car. It does not affect mapping, but needed to provide power/wakeup signal. What error are you seeing?
