Some pictures from her first big road trip, I was semi inspired by Wild Blue's journal thread.
Wife and I went up to the mountains in Tennessee for our anniversary, and since we didn't want to make the drive in one day, I convinced her of a great area to spend the night in South Carolina Continuing on our journey, some of the random things we saw along our travels: Going through the Smoky Mountains National Park from North Carolina to Tennessee, we stopped at the Oconaluftee visitors center as the wife loves wildlife spotting, and found quite a few elk out and about: We of course had to stop at the state line to get a few pictures: Finally made it to the cabin we were staying at in Townsend, TN, and the views were just amazing. It rained most of the second day we were in town, and on that day I had my wife take a video of the drive up the narrow, steep roads to the cabin, but it didn't really reflect what driving it was like. For those who have done the off-road course at the PCD where you are going uphill and can't see the road in front of you, it was very much like that! And finally, on the way home, I had to convince my wife that we needed to take the "scenic" route from TN back to NC |
