TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor Retrofit
Hello,
Has anyone done a TPMS retrofit on the G05? I have found these for the F30: 1. Add tire pressure and temperature to the TPMS display 2. F30/F20 TPMS Retrofit I have the rubber tire valves, not the metal ones, meaning the ABS monitors my run-flat tires by measuring the rotation of the wheel. I want to upgrade this to display tire pressure and temperature. I understand I need a control module, antenna, and 4 tire sensor valves. Here is the retrofit for a E or F series vehicle: BimmerRetrofit TPMS Is something available for my G05? |

atlas : Those sensors still need the control module and antenna to operate. They are only suitable for vehicles that already have TPMS installed.
I emailed BimmerRetrofit about their OEM product. They confirm the following product is also compatible with G series vehicles. BimmerRetrofit TPMS It's on my list of things to do ... |

Ummmm..... I'm confused.
Aren't ALL new X5s equipped with the same TPMs? If you want to be able to read pressure and temperature, everything is already there, isn't it? All you have to do is activate it in Bimmercode. I activated it in my car, and no "mechanical" work or additional hard parts were necessary. What am I missing? Are some TPMs in some X5s different??

Either way, these are what came on my car when new, and I had no problem activating tire pressure and temperature readings on bimmercode. In fact, it didn't even require "expert" level coding. Quick, easy, painless. The exact same was true on my 2016 340i msport as well. No "mechanical" work needed to be done to view pressure/temp. Just simple coding. |

Hello,
Have you checked your build sheet? The 50i comes standard with TPMS on the USA build sheet. You have the digital valves already equipped. I think your vehicle should have been displaying tyre pressure right out of the factory. |

Thanks for the reply mate. I am considering doing the same thing on my Australian stock X6 G06, but am not sure if we need a control module and antenna or just the valves and coding.

I have not yet pulled the plug. What sensors did you get? Apparently some non-OEM sensors may require programming / calibration. I booked my car for a recall service at the end of Oct and will ask the service advisor whether the control module and antenna were fitted to the car.

Bimmercode doesn't have that capability.

I have spoken with the service department manager at my BMW dealership, and at least according to him, simple retrofit by installing sensors and coding will not work on my X6 G06 40i since the control module and antenna are not factory fitted in Australian models I wish someone here in Australia could prove him wrong.
