I sure hope we don't start seeing cases of in-transit vehicles getting deletes at the VPC ...

I can't see why that would happen, but then I wouldn't have predicted this either ...

Which Audi? Q7?

We still plan to grab a MY22 RS6 for me at the end of the model year run as my daily driver/retirement gift (second time’s the charm, right? LOL). Gotta have at least one V8 in the stable, especially now that my gen 2 Raptor has the twin turbo V6 vs. the old gen 1 model’s 6.2L V8.

Hell, even that may wind up as a fiberglass shell with pedals for propulsion at this rate!

I don't think so. I am worried about the update for the touch screen. Read it will be ready November 11th but that means my car sits until then without being dispatched ?

It means that the car will be shipped, but will have a Retail Stop Sale on it. The dealer won’t be able to deliver (read: sell) it to you until on or after November 11, when the updated non-touchscreen software patch is available from BMW headquarters.

So if your car arrives at the dealer before November 11—as mine likely will—it’ll just sit there until then.

Right on. As of yesterday, mine was at "Entering Assembly Line", and that hasn't changed today. I imagine they'll finish it tomorrow or the next day, and it'll be at the dealer right around the 10th or 11th.

My non-Covid spec is already at VPC west coast (Oxnard?). Flipped from VPC to in-transit today. Heard it'll flip back to VPC when it arrives in Richmond. We'll see. Not sure whether NorCal cars still route through Oxnard or goes directly to Richmond, but there isn't a VPC in Richmond based on my understanding.

It should be at the dealership late this week or next week. I feel lucky to be the last day/customer of a touchscreen backup assist car.

Mine's been "in transit" for like 2 weeks!

Sounds about right. The statuses are not 100% accurate.

Nice. Mine is now in Quality Check. Once they're ready for transport, it typically takes them a week to make it to my local dealership.

Deletion of Backup Assistant - but still have touchscreen?

Hey guys,
So I see 6UY in the VIN decoder - does this mean my car includes the Touchscreen (says “ENTF. TOUCHFUNKTION CONTROL DISPLAY”) or does it confirm it’s out?

But ZUY is not showing, even though the MyBMW clearly lists:
“-Deletion of Backup Assistant“

I know there’s another thread about the $500 credit. I don’t care about the credit as much as I would love to keep the touchscreen.

I’ll live either way…
Thank you!

6UY means that the touchscreen has been deleted. ENTF is an abbreviation for entfernen which is remove or entfernt which is removed or means delete.

Yea, welcome to the "Untouchables" - what we lack in touchscreens, we make up for in saltiness.

Got it. Thank you for clarifying TurtleBoy!

Really sucks and $500 doesn’t even begin to make up for it - but no can do - I’ll take the car.

What VIN decoder are you using that shows the touch screen delete? I can't seem to find a VIN decoder that works for my 150 status X5.

VIN decoders will not work on vehicles in 150, you need to wait until it is built.

After checking, rechecking and calling my dealer, I still cannot believe I squeezed by the cutoff for the touchscreen and backup deletion.

My week 43 build of 10/11 Production Begins was the final day of touchscreen.

I think I saw this partially answered earlier in the thread. I wanted to confirm what exactly the backup assistant covers. I saw the post about the automatic backing OUT of a space. Do the cars with the deletion still have the self-parking feature for when you want to parallel or back-in park?

I'm not expecting mine until January and so far have had no communication from CA — just waiting to see what happens.

The idea of paying MSRP for a car with a bunch of involuntary deletes isn't appetizing.

Originally planned to replace my wife's 10 year old Prius with the 45e as our family is growing, but could hold off if I have to.
