- simplest is to get a github account and then download the file above; you can also just copy-paste-save from the file box at link above, but more prone to copy-paste errors - cheat files are actually handled by launcher, not directly by ESys, although the launchers incorporate its use into ESys; as such, how cheat files are handled is not the same between Launcher Pro and ESysX; ESysX can only handle a single file at a time, configure in setup - when you open an ECU image (NCD file) in the FDL Editor that matches a set of cheat codes for that specific ECU in the cheat file, you'll see the cheat codes in a box on the right - you'll want to get at least superficially familiar with the format of the cheat codes XML file; cheat codes are a convenience, you still need to be clear about what you're doing and to which ECU you're doing it to; once you can accurately read the cheat code file, you're both ready to use it and don't actually need it - note that cheat codes are for FDL coding (individual parameters); VO coding (feature/option-level coding) doesn't require either launchers nor uses cheat codes

Awesome, thanks! I had that but is there anything that tells you how to use it? So if you have Esysx do this, if you have Launcher Pro, do this. That's what I'm looking for and coming up empty.

Take a look at ESysX settings dialogs, there is a spot where you specify the cheat code file path. It is actually good to explore every nook and cranny yourself as there are a lot of moving pieces and you'll want your brain primed with what you see during exploration.

If you head over to Bimmerfest (am I allowed to say that?) and find your way to the coding forum, there's a pretty comprehensive DIY for beginners. I would strongly suggest you read through those threads because they're a wealth of knowledge.

I did get the Esysx linked up with the cheat codes though and found which of my ncd files have what needs to be coded just by loading them one at a time in the FDL editor and seeing when the cheat codes popped up. I'll go through them tomorrow and see if it works as expected. Thanks! |

Is there a way to have ADV going with assisted driving turned off? Eaglesrest mentioned there was a setting under displays but that only turns it on when assisted driving is enabled.

Try unchecking that setting. It might seem counter-intuitive, but you are dealing with German engineering after all :-).

Did you code all 4 parameters or skipped the FES one as many have? I haven't tested all permutations of random coding choices that people use, so just brainstorming. As usual, might need ALL details and pictures to diagnose.

I did code all 4, but while documenting my settings under Car, Displays, Instrumental Panel, I found Central display area, Assisted Driving View. Enabled this and now it’s working with assisted driving off too. Thanks again!

If I may ask, how can I code ADV with Bimmercode?

What didn't work? Walk us through in excruciating detail through your entire process of what equipment you used, your versions, and what steps you performed and let's figure it out.

Trying to assist a mate coding his X5 for ADV. we've managed to enable all other changes for LCA etc but can't locate the option within the DKOMBI CAFD to activate this view. Anyone know which folder we should be looking in? Screenshot attached. Cheers

ADV in this instance - the car has drive assist pro from factory, but not LCA being a UK car.
On LCA we couldn't find the SASx module to code, but that's a separate issue. Here we were trying to enable the ADV view in the instrument cluster.
