A local gunsmith with Cerakote mine in gloss black for $100 so that's a better finish + price than IND. Since mine now had a chip in it I'm going to Cerakote the grill which should hold up much better.
Does the added gloss finish over the Cerakote match what is currently on the vehicle? I checked out the website but everything is done in a matte finish. I know plastidip is a different application but I've seen where the final gloss application doesn't quite make it as glossy as the current trim.
No idea. I'll post pictures when I get it done so you can see for yourself
Looks like I'm gonna go the Cerakote route as well, good call. Here in Seattle I was quoted $120.

The shop recommended graphite black with a matte clear. Do you know what colors you will be using?

Thanks, the inner slots are stock. Not sure of the color but def not chrome. More of a brushed aluminum.

They didn't say what black exactly but I'll find out tonight when I go by, clear will be a gloss to keep consistent with everything else.

edit: doing graphite black + clear gloss. They're doing a non-bake option since it's too big for their oven

I contacted IND today about a shadow-line painted grill, in an attempt to mimic the shadow-line roof rails and exhaust cover that they paint. They said they couldnt do it- but the closest they had was a Black Chrome color- pictures below. Id be interested in how it looks next to the Glossy Black..but it looks like it could come off too"copper" (see 1st pic). I think the other pics look great....

Anyone purchase Black Chrome yet?

Thanks, I may go the graphite black, matte clear route. Not sure yet.

Taking it in next week after I get the grille off the car.

I don't have an ETA yet since the color had to be ordered. I don't think the matte clear will match the trim unless you don't care

We have done black chrome, it is a bit lighter than the shadow-line color.

Compared to BMWs shadow-line finish

I'm looking into powder coating too. Seems possible as long as the grille can withstand 350-400F during curing. Seems doable.

Cerakote would be better I'll let you guys knowb
Thanks, good thing with Cerakote is it'll be a thinner application and might look more OEM, but no gloss black, right?

I got my Cerakoted grill back if you're curious

I made a separate OP to differentiate this from the normal painted ones
