Oil leaking from doors and trunk lid

I've noticed small drips of what looks l like oil dripping from the bottom front corner of my doors on to the running boards as well as from the rear trunk lid. I think the trunk lid is dripping it from the small hole in the center (see pics).

Any idea if this is normal for a new car? My best guess is that BMW over-lubed some of the interior latching mechanisms, but I don't want it to ruin my paint.

That is normal although it looks like more than most times that is shows up. It is the cosmoline coming from the weep holes.

What should I do about it? Just clean it off when I see it?

Yes, just clean it off. There should be a few threads on it and I think there may be some cleaning suggestions. Will post them if I run across them.

Edit: some suggestions in this thread:

It looks a bit excessive... Maybe dealer can help?

Yeah just clean it, nothing needs to be done. Just grease for hinges, locking mechanism, window regulator, ….any moving parts inside. At least for me, not worth a trip to dealer, nothing they can do anyway

Had the same issue coming out of the rear propeller badge. Dealer said it was common, just need to wait for it to all seep out. That took about 3 months of hot weather for it to stop.

15 months into owning this....and I wash the dailys weekly. Sometimes bi-weekly.....OCD detailing nerd here.

I'm still amazed that even after this time, I'm still getting staining from the grease/residual water coming out of these weep hole spots. I keep it well -coated- but I'm still chasing the drop lines with water spot remover, sometimes I will hot it with a light polish , etc...

None on the rear but the 4 weep holes on the doors for sure.

Apparently, it stains the black plastic trim too so this isn’t just a temporary cosmetic annoyance.
