7.4 kw charger, 85hp bump from the battery, more torque, 40 miles of EV range. Trifecta, this is the best PHEV on the market today in combination of driving dynamics, style, and efficiency, all under $100k
Porsche, Audi, MB cannot compete

Ditto. Would have really liked the bigger battery and faster charging in the e50, but not at the cost of $7,000 extra, that dopey grin on front, more glass touch panels and fewer buttons, and no laser headlights. I only regret not finding a way to get one in 2022 before the tax rules changed.

Owners of pre-LCI G05... we know that you are happy with your vehicles and you are happy that you didn't wait for LCI... but who cares? Thousands other people will buy LCI version. No need to get reassurance about your great decision from others.

Man...
The good - Front bumper design is good. - The steering wheel is very good. - The interior leather and seats look very good. - Drivetrain improvements sound quite good, especially in the 50e. The okay, meh stuff - The iD8 dash integration is not bad given the additional size of the dashboards in the X5+ cars. The bad - The headlights look like they are defective by design. Like a car with cataracts or something. - The tail lights look okay but the size makes it look obese instead of sleek like pre-LCI. - Lack of the crystal stick shift is a bummer. Wasn't planning to anyway, but invokes zero desire to upgrade from the 45e to the 50e given: - mixed bag of changes with nothing overly compelling. Especially missing iD shortcut buttons and physical AC controls. - increased pricing. - higher interest rates (mine's locked in at 0.9%) - zero federal tax credit. (out of the AGI limit, will exceed MSRP limit with options, etc.)

I like it. Doesn’t look that different and don’t get the obsession with the headlights and lack of clicky buttons for the climate system. How often do you fiddle with the buttons FFS.
Its different enough and has added value to make older x5 owners come back and get another one, and new shoppers look at a x5 over the competitors. |

Definitely an upgrade. However I still cannot get over the idea of BMW reducing the gap between M cars and M performance cars.

Last year I had guessed that the 50e would be a $10-12k increase over the 45e, mostly due to the loss of the 7500 tax credit. Turns out the difference is over $14k. Glad I got my 2023.

With the push for 100% carbon free by 2035, it seems like they're trying to slowly whittle down the number of ICEs they have to produce/maintain/update. I get the same feeling from MB/AMG. Not sure about Audi.
