Speeding Ticket in Tennessee - Options?
So pissed. I was doing 65 mph with my mom and kids in the car. Had to pass a big truck with rocks blowing out the back onto my car. As I'm passing and slowing down, cop lasers me at 81. Its a 65 mph zone. No questions just give me your license so I can give you a ticket.
Anyways, in Michigan I would go to court. They would drop the ticket off my record but it will still show up on insurance. My options 1. Just pay the ticket 2. Schedule a court date 3. Pay the ticket and go to drivers ed, he said they will drop the ticket on my record Is there anyway to get this ticket off my record, and not to show up on insurance? I don't want to waste my time on #2 or #3. Thanks.

I too just got one.....I would like to fight the $125.00 ticket, but it's in Gallipolis, OH about 3 hours away.
Young cop said he got me @ 81 / 70 and his "superviser" got me @ 83, he called the first cop to pull me over, which I was pulling into a gas station (I had it on cruise control @ 74) no way was I speeding. I ask to see the clocked rader and he said he bumped it and it went away.....BS. I pleaded with him and asked him to call up his "superviser" to ask if it was really me...he can back with the ticket. options: 1. Pay the $125.00 2. Fight pay lawyer $ ?, court costs ? and fine $ ? |

If it matters that much, contact an attorney.
I've went to court plenty of times and had it dismissed upon payment of ticket, but that was just luck I guess. Fool proof method is lawyer up |

Without a doubt get a traffic attorney. It ends up not being all that much more money and they take care of everything. How it works for me in NC/SC: literally all you need to do is call them and they can look it up in the system... they take your credit card number over the phone and that's it. They'll send you the result in the mail. For mine, I was doing 80 in a 55 work zone. Got it reduced to 9 over (no insurance points), and the work zone thing got dropped. In this case, I ended up paying LESS going with the attorney.

Get a lawyer, it is less hassle and the results are always better. I had a 87 in a 65 and they reduced it to improper equipment, a non moving violation. Cost me 375 I think, been a few years back.
