New M3 on order!
So excited! Have a new M3 on order, expected delivery date in December/January so still a long way away =( build date to start some time next month perhaps? Just had a few questions as I am quite new to this.
1. I am still free to change the car and there were 2 options i was seriously tossing up between but in the end decided not to get. However would like your opinion on. LED Lights, worth it? Full leather, worth it? I came to the conclusion that they would not improve my driving experience but it would improve aesthetics. Ultimately i chose not to get them but should i of? 2. I heard about this carbon fibre roof delay is this true? My car is meant to have a carbon fibre roof, will this delay my order? 3. Finally I hear a lot a "week 39 build, week 40 week 41" etc etc. What does this actually mean? I am thinking of calling up my sales consultant this week just to finalize everything and also enquire about this "week XX" Build time, about the carbon fibre roof delays? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Congrats on the order...
#1 - LED & Full Leather is a matter of personal opinion. They are truly aesthetics because the Xenon lights are very nice and light the road quite well so the LED isnt doing too much over that. Personally i opted for both of those options for a few reasons. One - I have an F30 now with Xenon and no leather dash so i didnt want it to feel like the same car inside, I wanted to it to look different than all the F30's on the road. Two- if I'm spending this much on this kind of car i want it to look and feel "up to date" and more luxirious inside. Three - and probably the biggest reason for me.. they are both sexy as hell!! #2 - If you are just putting you order in and the dealer didnt already have a customer name on the allocation you will probably be delayed. Im not going to say until January but you should prepare yourself that you may be waiting until Feb/March to get the car. #3 - Week numbers are the week # of the year. Google "2014 Week numbers". It will give you the dates that are associated with the week number or if you have an Iphone/Ipad you can turn that function on for the Calendar. Your CA should be able to give you the week number the car is "supposed" to start production but i caution you to that those numbers can and often do change..especially with the CF Roof issues going on right now. Hope that helps you a bit |

Thanks for the quick response!
They do look quite good, im especially conflicted between the full leather because it is actually something I can see where as the lights are less noticeable when i am inside the car. However after some contemplation I think i can give it a miss, it is a $2700 extra in Aus and I don't think the leather will make me that much happier. Spoke to the dealer today he is not at work so he'll give me my build week when his back in the office. He said from memory it would be an October build for delivery in December. I can only pray this is the case. Please no delays!!! And hopefully we'll be looking at a nice Christmas present =) *Sigh* who am i kidding, lets be real guys my build order will be delayed wont it? |

You guys pay so much more for the cars over there i dont blame you for not paying all of that for something without much return..
I just found out that my car is now scheduled for the daily production pack which is pretty much a guarantee i will enter production in the next week or two as scheduled...so maybe that means some of the delays are being lessened. |

Nice, Congrats man! =) You'll be zooming down the highway in no time!
In regards to pricing, sigh tell me about it. $173,000 drive away talk about a rip off *sigh* I think the M4s with options are close to $200,000 which can grab you a Ferrari in the US i think? |

Congratulations! To answer your first question about options:
The great thing about ordering what you want is that it forces you to decide what is important. For me, I wanted the options that addressed performance and day to day operation. Full leather didn't make the cut, nor did LED. I still don't regret it. Sure, the dash with extended is dull to touch, but when I hit the gas and sink into that great leather, nothing else matters. I have zero regrets about either option. I do love the camera, distance sensors, and HUD that came with the executive package; money well spent.

Thanks guys! Hoping it does start early but ill call up week 43 to see. If everything goes according to schedule it should be a December delivery, hoping it comes mid December or late December as a Christmas present =)
Just one quick question as I Spoke to my CA and told him i may change one aspect of the car and i would let him know today if it were to change or not. Alpine White Silver Rims Or Alpine White Black Rims ($500 option) I have seen pictures of both and silver looks pretty good too. I have not seen it in person though so if anyone can chime in on this that would be great. |

I saw both in person last weekend... i prefer the black rims. They go well with the CF roof and if you plan to do the black grills, diffuser, exhaust tips etc it will tie together nicely. just my 2 cents.

I like AW with black wheels more. The white paint really makes the black wheels stand out and give a good looking contrast. I think black goes well with almost every color and helps highlight the vehicle's paint color.
