To Dinan or to not Dinan....

So while we all know that the M5 is an insanely powerful machine, I've been curious as to what other members think about a Dinan tune or any other tune in fact.

I know the AMS tune has a lot of following on here as well, but not sure about the warranty. My car is covered until late 2017 or another 13k miles and then the CPO takes over until 2019. So I am not sure whether I want to give in to the urge and get the D2 tune along with a Meistershaft or RPi exhaust to up the power.

I live in the midwest so it's not like I'll be pushing the car to it's threshold except during the summer as our tracks are rarely usable in the winter.

Is a tune worth the $3k+ and loss of factory warranty? I ran a BMS S1 piggyback on my 550, but it was only for a week or two before I got my M5 so I had very little experience with it.

I would call Dinan and try to figure out if they are also going to do a flash. Now the code is broken I would imagine they will do a flash and that would be the better buy.

I really do like and trust my Dinan piggy back but I would hold off for a bit to see what comes of this new ecu tuning. Competition is healthy.

I know the Lincoln bmw dealer is an authorized Dinan installer. I was going to wait until spring though. I figure by March we will know more about alternative tunes.

Let me know what you decide but for now I am leaning toward Dinan.
