You are right. I own a M6 Gran Coupe, and I have raced M5's many times. Even though drivetrain is identical, but still M6 is faster somehow.

Could be that the M5 has those shitty hole w/ pipe in the intake, block it and get the same power!

Mine has just the open holes. No snorkels. BMW wants an arm/leg for the covers.

I just ordered one M5 yesterday acutally

Just purchased some BMC air filters... I just hope it has those holes closed!

It really won't matter as your car will run with or w/o the covers. But the bmc will help

True, but I see some people has attained some ridiculous gains.
I don't believe blocking those holes is worth 40whp though
