New HPFP
Appears my HPFP is almost cactus with very long cranks and a few codes and stalls getting worse over the last month.
Injectors, coils, plugs and intake clean done a few weeks ago. I'm looking at getting the latest part number (13517616170) which from what I've read seems to have largely sorted the old issues. I also understand there was a "technical campaign" by BMW Australia to replace this with the latest part for free but I can't see any good info on this. I'm also planning of eventually running e85 mixes in the future and have heard of an aftermarket HPFP that can better handle this along with a stage 2 fuel-it but again I can't find good info of a plug and play alternative. Has anyone here either been covered by the technical campaign or got a non oem higher spec part? Alternatively has anyone replaced their HPFP through a mechanic and have a ballpark of the install cost. At this stage im leaning towards just buying the new part from usa and hitting up my local mechanic to install. Any info/personal experience appreciated. I'm running a n54 2008 with no prior HPFP replacement and 90k on the odo. Cheers |

no non OEM options available sadly.
Don't think HPFP replacement campaign is common here, unlike the USA folk. i DIYed the replacement on ours, was pretty easy... mechanic would probably charge 2 hours labour for it, or thereabouts. |

You should do an intake clean while you are there.
Its possible to do the HPFP without removing the intake manifold, but does make it a heck of a lot easier if do. Steve |

depending where you live... yeah not a bad idea at all, intake clean should be maybe $400-$500
and getting the cp/manifold off is 99% of the HPFP job, so getting the HPFP changed at the same time would cost peanuts unless the shop is a ripoff. |
