Email no longer appears in iDrive after upgrading to iOS9

I loved having email show up on my nav screen after coding 6NS - all I had to do was close email on my iphone after starting the car and new emails showed up - icon + office would read email on my nav screen.

After upgrading(?) to iOS9, no more email notifications on iDrive - tried rebooting iphone, repairing bluetooth... nothing.

Anyone seeing this? Any possible solutions?

I can't even get text messages to show up in the car with iPhone 6s... was working fine before.

thanks for responding - was beginning to think it was just my phone ... I'll update here if I learn anything, but even with 9.0.2 it isn't working

I get messages if they land while i am connected to the car.
iPhone 6s with latest software.

That's heartening to know - can you tell me what you do with your phone when you get into the car? Do you kill your email app after your bluetooth connects? Thanks!

I Have the snap in adapter and i can only see my messages if they arrive while i am connected to the car adapter. If the message arrived before i connect and still not open i cant see it.
In bluetooth also the same scenario. Maybe you need to go to bluetooth settings in your phone and select "show notifications" on the bmw bluetooth connection.

Thanks - I do have 'show notifications' selected on BT
I wonder if it has something to do with you using the adapter (I don't have that). Do you know if email works if you don't use the adapter but use bluetooth instead? I'll try using the USB connection tomorrow to see if that makes a difference.

Three is definitely a problem with the bt stack on iOS 9. My 6s and my wife's 6s plus is having issues on her car and my car. No issues on those cars with my prior phones. Good news is that it's not the car... So probably not a car narration for this forum.

BTW: if you have an adapter, you have a wired connection to the car, not Bluetooth

What happens when your phone locks (security)? Nothing works?

for me, emails show on the locked screen, as they did with previous iOS versions - they just no longer also show in iDrive

My biggest issue occurs with the snap-in adapter and the 5s. When it locks nothing seems to work properly. I have to play a game where I unlock and then launch apps and then unlock and launch apps. Garbage...

No issues like that with my snap in adapter or via bluetooth or by usb and cable to phone direct.
Do you have the BMW connected app?

BMW Connected App and when my phone locks for security reasons. I get through the idrive that I have to launch connected. If I try to launch any apps or to even see any apps I am required to launch one of the apps (Pandora, Amazon, etc.) And then if I turn the car off and start up again I am in the same boat. Sometimes it works and other times it doesn't. Extremely annoying having to open and close and launch while phone is connected. None of these things work otherwise.

tried connecting through USB instead of BT - also used BMW connect app. No email notification - just at a loss here....

Wonder if you guys have updated the radio software to the latest version? Dont ask me which one it is I just downloaded it to a USB drive and updated software in the radio.

nope - email still doesn't show up on iDrive - texts do, but did before as well.... iphone settings for texts and emails are identical

Mine shows email, ONLY when I get them while sitting in the car connected.
IF they are already read or received before I get connected they won't show up.
Same with Text,
