Sorry to hear it.
I realize it's of little consolation, but the damage looks cosmetic, and may be limited to just the front bumper apron, and kidney grill insert.

You Cali guys are not used to it, but this is what 1/2 the cars in NYC look like.
And what the other 1/2 will start looking after a few months of curb side parking in the city, where everyone parks by braille.

No, I know that It's a long running joke that SO cars are a bad omen to unfortunate things happening to M's. I had a new black M6 and an asshole planted his receiver hitch right in the middle of the rear bumper of my car and left it 1/2" from my car parked. Confrontation would lead to jail so it's better if you don't know who did it. When I was in college I witnessed a guy hit a parked car and he stopped and wrote a note and put it on the windshield. Me being dumb assumed he was writing down his contact info. The note said " people saw me do this so I knew I had to make them think I was giving you my contact info, sorry".

About 3 years ago, my sister backed into my E92 335i with her Chevy HHR at my mother's house. The front bumper cover on my car had to be replaced. Then, a year ago I replaced the 335i with my M4 when it came in.

Are u planning on keeping your M4? if not. I wouldn't go through insurance cause that will leave a stain on your Carfax report. Obviously if u can't afford the repair cost out of pocket then go through insurance. if it is a lease most definitely go through insurance. File a police report it might hit your carfax anyway. tough decisions ahead my friend.

Part of what wrong with society is no one steps up to help in some situations that are not life threatening. If you saw the event and did not read the note you would be one of those walk-aways.

God help little minds like yours. If you had a real brain it would ask you what my motivation was in making up any event like this. We already saw many examples of cars being hit by unknown people by different people. You almost sound like one of those who hits cars and runs off.
