BMW Online Updates
I accidentally started a session this morning, and the system started updating. There is now an "Office" option, that gives you access to GMAIL, MSN Hotmail, iCloud email, and BMW email. It looks like they also updated the weather, and news apps.
I'm going to log into my connected drive account, and configure the email accounts. I wish there was an Exchange Server option.

Same here it is not working for me. Maybe you have to pay extra for the internet service which is $100.00 a year.

Add me to the list. No email working... I think we are used to BMW "implementing" something that isn't fully tested by now...

Ok guys i have done my research:
You need to go to ConnectedDrive specific website if you are already registered log in and go to setting then to add services and add your email address. I only got hotmail to save. The problem i am having with gmail is a bigger problem the server for the BMW online applications is in Germany so when you enter your gmail information is blocked by the gmail server because you are not in Germany obviously so i got an email from gmail that the ip address was blocked i responded to the email notice acknowledging that that was me trying to log in but gmail will block the ip for 2 weeks for safety. So for now i can only send emails and get emails via online services in connectedrive using hotmail. Hope this help shed a light on the problem. I will edit the post if tomorrow morning i can see in the car screen the email from hotmail. |

"Error when connecting to incoming mail server (please check settings)" Guessing #1 - They aren't doing it right (technical assessment) and #2 - They are definitely not taking into account 2-step verification. ADD:: Got this from gmail :-) Subject: Sign-in attempt prevented "Someone just tried to sign in to your Google Account XXXXXX from an app that doesn't meet modern security standards." <---- This was an account that did NOT have 2-step |

Sorry guys, I've been a bit busy. To get gmail to work, you have to allow less secure apps to connect (google it) and change your gmail password if you get the "incoming server" error. It took me 30 minutes with a BMW Genius to work through the kinks.

Man. Tried everything and all I get are login failures. Guess this isn't ready for prime time.

I still haven't gotten this to work even with enabling things in my gmail account. To anyone who has gotten this to work are you using the FULL email address for the username? Or just the username itself?

Found the solution. No thanks to BMW genius. They are pretty much useless/clueless.
1. On your PC/MAC go to BMW Connected drive and add all your email accounts. 2. On your drive, go to OFFICE and add GMAIL and/or HOTMAIL apps. 3. Do not try to login under either app. Add BMW online mail app and use the same login as your BMW connected drive on your computer. 4. Voila! Both my email accounts showed up. EDIT: Step 2 NOT actually required! It works with just BMW online mail app.
