Tach on heads up display

Wasnt sure how to search this one....... so with the dct transmission when put in m2 and the tach lights up on the heads up display there are empty boxes above the tach all yellow except the last 2 or 3 which are red anyone know what those are for? thought maybe it would flash or something when you are getting close to red line but I've never seen anything.....thanx in advance

Shift lights. If they don't light up, you're not pushing it far enough.
