Or just plug in to USB. Text messages come over Bluetooth, I think you need to be plugged in for email

In the center console there is a USB plug. If it's an apple phone make sure you use a real cable, lots of problems with aftermarket cables in these cars. Do you have BMW apps? That's also how you get access to all the apps.

Officially the Office features are not supported for iPhones. Unofficially the text messages can be viewed and be read out loud.

This should work out of the box but make sure that text messages show up in the notification center maybe you disabled this on your phone? And there are some option in the bluetooth settings if you are using bluetooth.

It is buried in this thread, reply # 371:

Yes in office- messages. It only shows you new messages since you got in the car. Can't access existing messages (that I know of)

1. Log in to the website connectedDrive.
2. go to SETTINGS.
3. go to SET UP SERVICES
4. you land to a menu says EMAIL ACCOUNTS. If you have any registered you will be looking at them right now.
5. IF you don't have any click on add email accounts:
Gives you options there fill in the infomation: only works with Gmail, Hotmail, iCloud email accounts. I have tried other and seem to not work. But you can always try. (UPDATE:Yahoo in IMAP works too)
Sometimes it sends you an email from the account been registered that someone try to access your account follow instructions

ONCE you have gone thru the set up you will see them with in a few hours if not asap in your connectedDrive Office via the email app in the car.

Thank you! After a couple of attempts I was able to activate my @outlook.com account. But it also should work with any imap, pop3, smtp server.

Nevermind. Found it. Apparently it appears to be an issue that hasn't been worked around yet.
