HUD Retrofit
Anyone every think of or price out a HUD retrofit to their cars? Parts I would believe would be minimum to include dash and projector unit. Maybe glass if HUD specific glass is used. Re-coding? I plan to keep my car so long term cost would be extended over time. Its really the only thing I wished was a separate option you could get on your car. I've seen BMW's aftermarket addition but can't otherwise go there with that....too aftermarket look and has your dash looking like a police cruiser with all the wires. Then there's the theft potential. Anyway had it on my old F10 and must it admit it was something I used everyday and enjoyed.

It's not going to be practical in any sense. You could probably trade your car for a car with exec package for the same cost.
If you'd like some additional "heads up" style features (but not a HUD) consider the Electric M Performance Steering Wheel. You'll get shift lights and a race display at the top center of the wheel. It's a nice piece, and will only set you back about $1500 + install.

ahh to dream. I think it could be done... parts would be the issue and coding. But if I say found a wrecked car with the HUD intact that may save some cash. I remember one guy in the F10 forms who found a salvage F10 and restored it and had a 550i for like 1/3 the total cost.
