Moving to Atlanta, GA

Hi guys -

I am looking to make a move to Atlanta, GA and was wondering if anyone can give some pointers on shops, track time, track groups and anything pretty much BMW or for that matter car enthusiast related?

What shops should I look for i.e. alignment (preferably someone that specializes in aligning track cars, corner balancing etc.)?

Any great tuning shops that know their way around the E92 M chassis and the S65?

Is there a DIY garage where you can rent out equipment if needed to?

What areas should I stay away from, bad drive ways cops etc?

Thanks for those links! I currently reside in South Florida and as I am ready to purchase a home, the SOFLA market is really ridiculous with its pricing. I have started doing some research and as of now have found a great balance between work opportunities and home markets in ATL.

It is a somewhat of a slow process, but here on Jan 22nd, I will be making my trip to Atlanta looking at housing etc. Any neighborhoods or car friendly neighborhoods you guys can suggest please feel free to message me or simply reply.

I moved from Miami to ATL last year, very happy with it! Miss the beach for sure, but otherwise a great place to live.

I moved for NJ to the Alpharetta area. You are going to love the weather and the ability to drive the M3 for a more months.

United Speed Racing (ask for Jason or ChinChi) Alpharetta, Ga

They both use the same guy for alignment works for MCS in Atlanta he is the best!

I am a member at Atlanta Motorsports Park so anytime you wanna try that out let me know. that goes for any Atlanta people as well.

Track day providers ( there's a bunch): Chin Motorsports (my preference), Just Track It, Jzilla, ect.....

Any help you need please don't hesitate to reach out. I have used a lot of shops and the two listed above are top notch and won't yank you around.

I just checked out some of the Track Day providers and good lord do those guys charge a lot! Chin Motorsports wants $600 for a 2 day event at Road Atlanta?!?! Thats just ridiculous.

Are the NASA events any good? $370 for 2 days is more my speed. LOL

Check out Jzilla at Road Atlanta coming up in October I believe.

I hope OP doesn't mind my intervention here, but you seem to know a lot about the Atlanta area: Hoping you can help me find someone to do a ppi for a e90 m3 I'm thinking of buying in Marrietta. The catch is dealer won't deliver the car; so the person has to go pick up the car or do ppi at the dealer. Thanks.

Call Markert Motor Works and Ask for Rob he should be able to facilitate it for you.
