20" wheels on DC area roads

Going to order our M3 this weekend and have the options picked out with the exception of the Competition Package. Our only concern is how the 20" wheels will hold up on our less than stellar roads.

Do not plan plan on ever tracking the car, but you never know.

Anybody have experience running 20's in the area?

Thanks

I have and do. It really depends on if your wheels are good and your tire dimensions. I made the mistake of going with a 25 profile a few years back and I cracked my wheels twice. Cheap wheels and cheaper tires...

I have 20s now and so far so good. I went with a reputable brand and kept my side profile at 35/30. Plenty of rubber in my opinion.

ran 20s on my ISF, M4, and C7 no issues. Like ///M4RINE you should run 35/30 .

Good advice, I'd second this. If you want 20", make sure the wheel is made well and do not skimp on tires either. Go with a thicker sidewall if you can and also do your best to avoid what you can while driving and you should be just fine.

No problem at all. Just have to be careful. Have run 20s on my M3 and 22s on my Cayenne. Just have to be super careful.
