Gauge Setup for SC

I was hoping that someone could help me with a few questions regarding setting up dial gauges in my car.

I plan on running AFR, Boost and Oil pressure. Manufacturer will be autometer because I have boost and AFR left over from a past car.

Question 1: for AFR where did you place the bug? Or does it really matter where if you are running cat less? I'm assuming anywhere along the test pipe probably close the the rear o2 pending clearance. Please correct me if my assumption is wrong.

Question 2: Does anyone have a DIY for an oil pressure gauge setup? I lost on this one.

Question 3: is there a better option of gauge then oil pressure in your opinion

Question 4: I'm clear on boost pressure, but does anyone have experience in where to splice for the most accurate and visually clean? In theory it should not matter but figured I ask.

Thanks in advance for any help given!

I would personally just go with the acm p3. Factory look easy install and has every feature you want and then some. That's what I'll be running soon. Autometer gauges just seem a little too aftermarket and always look out of place no matter where you put them.

couldn't have said it better. just get the adapters and use the two extra connections for the oil pressure. All gauges in one at a pretty economical package. i love the single gauges but they are not easy to mount and connect. money no object, i'd go with the awron. that is an amazing gauge setup.

I used an AEM 30-4401 pressure gauge set and hooked it up to the P3 to display oil pressure. I realized that I never got around to writing a DIY for it, but it's pretty easy to do.

If you want to use an AWRON gauge to display oil pressure, you'll need to get the "compressor II" variant, which increases the price significantly.

Here a link to the setup I had a long time ago. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=845136 My advice would be to not install a boost or AFR gauge anywhere except at eye level -- it is simply not safe to be looking down to monitor boost or AFR when you are WOT on a supercharged M3.

Just looked into the Awron gauge today. damn it's expensive but I think I may have to go that route I stead of the P3. Can anyone comment on how accurate the hp and tq readings are?

The Awron basically reports back the values that cars DME see's.Never had any issues with readings being inaccurate. We have had them in both our ESS supercharged e92 M3 and now in our F82 M4. If you have an ESS kit Awron makes a velocity stack to make it easy to integrate the boost and intake temp sensor as well. Here is a video of the operation:

Thanks, I think I'll take your advice. Probably will do Awron instead. Seems 100 times less the hassle and looks good AF.

I will definitely be looking into the Awron. Seems like a great investment. Ill never have to pay for a dyno run again and it looks fantastic.
