Borla Quad Resonated X-Pipe

How's it going everyone.

So I currently have a 'custom' made Magnaflow Exhaust system from the headers back. Though i love the sound at full throttle, the droning is unbearable. If this was a track car, i'd keep it!

So, the question at hand is, I've already chosen to purchase the Corsa Axle back, But i'm looking into the Borla X-Pipe due the 4 resonators. Anyone here have or used their X-Pipes Before? How's the quality and/or sound?

The system will be catless so, Headers, 4 resonators and then the Corsa system.

Thanks in advance!

My advice is to not mix-and-match exhaust parts. It's called an exhaust system because things are designed to work together. Resonators and mufflers are specifically tuned for each other. Even stuff like the tube thickness, bends, diameter, etc. influences the sound. As soon as you throw two different things on there, it's a total guess as to how it will sound. Will more resonators help? Yes, but are they going to cancel all of the resonances? Probably not.

If Corsa sells some sort of matching mid-section with resonators, buy that to go with the Corsa axle-back.

Otherwise, I would just tell you to get the full Borla catback as it does seem to be one of the more mellow and liveable exhausts. They sell three systems that each have a different sound but are complete systems.

I would prefer not to mix and match exhaust parts, but as far as i know, Corsa only sells the axle back. Unless I am missing something. I've seen quite a few use the ESS X pipe and loving it... i just wondering if the extra resonators would help even more with the drone...

Why not just get the full Borla catback? Can you return or resell the Corsa?

Unfortunately I'm sure if i buy and use the Borla, they wouldn't take it back.
I'm specifically wanting the Corsa due to their Drone Cancelling Setup. I cannot STAND drone. It's the exact reason i'm getting rid of my magnaflow setup. Sounds AWESOME, Drones so bad I'm scared to drive by cemeteries and wake up the dead. haha.

I have a Corsa and LOVE it. I think you're making a great choice. Pair it with the M3 World X-pipe and you won't regret it. Awesome quality... Zero drone... and the sound is wonderful!

I've been running this setup for a couple of months now but started out with just the Corsa... then added the xpipe! Big improvement... you won't regret it!!!

Sure, understood.

Have you called Corsa directly? Maybe they have some recommendations on what to pair the muffler with.

I have the Borla quad-resonated paired with a Magnaflow rear section. Works just fine and sounds great. I ended up getting the Borla for a steal and it looks nearly identical to the Dinan x-pipe.

I had a catless unresonated x-pipe on briefly before and it was extremely loud and lots of drone. While I wont tell you my current setup is completely drone free, it's a lot better than it was. Loud but tolerable.
