Solution for throttle actuators!
Today I decided to replace my throttle actuators in my E90 M3. I thought I would share since I was able to save about $800 off my actuators.
Long story short I met Matt who sells OEM actuators for E60 M5 actuators the only difference is he gets them directly from the manufacturer. No 300 dollar BMW box as he says. After him doing some researching and I stepped up to be the test subject we found out the s85 and the s65 use identical throttle actuators except different "plates" because of the different angles they use. They have the same part numbers on the actuator and the board. as I provided photos that show the difference between the s85 and the s85 "plates" (Top plate is s85 and the bottom plate is for the s65) All that is required is the nut located on the actuator to be removed swap plates (carefully remove them while securing the plate so the plastic gears are not damaged and reassemble on the brand new actuators. Matt Colm: Mattcolm on m5board.com *Cayeta* on eBay.com (asterisks are part of username) Mattc2345@gmail.com to text or email Hope this helps fellow s65/s85 owners since I know it saved me money!

I'd like to know as well. Intermittent errors on bank 2.
Is it potentially damaging to drive the car when I get a TA error 50% of the time?

As far as Genuine BMW throttle actuators go, S65 and S85 TA's are essentially the same price.
The Continental/VDO actuator is available for both cars. |

Just because he didn't post doesn't mean that he didn't have questions. As far as them cornering the market on actuators, I appreciate people that hustle, so if a) he's legit, b) he's saving people a good bit of money while putting some in his pocket at the same time, then c) I have no problem with that. Honestly, why would anyone?

If that's what he wants to do good for him..I guess. But be up front about it. Don't hide that fact under the guise of "ohh look this actuator I bought from this guy for dirt cheap *promp: salesperson contact info* can be modded and made to fit our cars! Heres how.. *cue convenient for sale thread" I typically remain skeptical and don't take things for face value. Maybe you should too. Lots of scammers and dishonest people online

lol I have no affiliation with Matt at all I was just a fellow m3 owner with a throttle actuator issue and I was able to find a good guy who was looking to help out the community. I don't make a dollar sharing this information nor is Matt out there running a full time business selling actuators. He has been picking them up a handful at a time just to help others out and I decided to be the test subject to see if they really do work with s65s. I may not be as active in this forum as my other forums but that does not mean I don't spend time here gathering info. I just found info that I thought I share.

I get it comes off kind of sales like but I really have no affiliation and I thought sharing his review pages and other information would provide better insight on what type of guy Matt is and whether he is legitimate or not. I took the gamble after asking for all that information I just thought I'd share my research same as how I gain info from others posts with related issues. Isn't this the whole point of a forum @rated ///m?

Here is photos of my old oem actuators. They have vdo printed on them and both of the actuators had identical stickers except the location for the BMW part bumber looks like it was "scratched off". Like I said previous I was just happy to save 800 bucks and I wanted to share the info to others.
