Misfire Cylinder after test pipes normal?

Hi ///M people,

Just wish to ask if misfire cylinder error messages are normal after test pipe install. Want to make sure it's nothing to freak out about...

I just recently installed test pipes. No tune yet and everything else is stock except for an OEM 2.5 pipe exhaust mod. Yesterday (this is about 200 klms of driving after test pipe install), when i started the car, it suddenly went into limp mode. Then i turned off the car immediately and started it back up again. No issues and no error message..all seems normal. Haven't had any limp mode or ondash error message as yet.

Today i ran a diagnostic with my Carly adaptor to see what error messages have been stored. It's recorded almost all cylinders are showing misfire. These error messages weren't present before the test pipe install.

In your opinion, would this be due to test pipes being installed? And would a tune file take this into consideration? Car will definitely be running lean due to test pipes so I assume tuned file (ie BPM, ESS or Evolve) will adjust parameters to compensate this correct?

I'm contemplating whether I need to install new spark plugs or coils or if this would just be related to installing test pipes...in which case i can just get a tune...my car's only done 49,000 klms..
Thanks for your advice.

Joseph

Absolutely not normal. Check to make sure gaskets and o2 sensors are properly installed and that there are no exhaust leaks.
