Hunt Valley Meet and Drive
Hey guys,
Looking like a really nice Saturday again this weekend so I figured I would throw out the idea of a meet at Hunt Valley C&C then followed by a spirited drive thru the hills. We could grab some lunch somewhere after as well if everyone wanted also. Last time we did this a few weeks ago it was a blast. We can all meet at 8am in the Outback parking lot again right by the Wegmans and cruise over together. Let me know what you all think and who is in. |

I'm game. Hopefully I can get out and wash my car before Saturday. It is really dirty after driving home from the BMW performance center in the rain.

From what I understand by asking around, what I did was basically the one day M school, but we had 2 people per car, and not one per car. This was done to keep the cost down a bit. In the ///M school you much more track time, you have your own car, and more things are provided in the cost. We did 8 different events and were basically on the tracks from 9-5 with a 1 hour lunch that was provided. In the morning we did a Rat Race on a very small track that was wet, something call Braking and entering where you learn how to brake at high speed into a corner and setup for other turns and the straight ways, an autocross type of course, and drifting on the skid pad. In the afternoon we did a short track (top speed of 85 mph in to a 30ish mph corner at the end of the straightways with lots of turns in between), a long track (top speed of about 105 into a 30 mph corner and a bunch of turns in between), a figure 8 race on a wet track, and a timed autocross track. The short and long tracks were really fun for me, I felt like a road racer At the end of the day, we did a hot lap with one of the instructors to dash any hope that you are any good at this stuff. We got to drive M2s, M3s and M4s. All the latest models with the competition packages on the M3s and M4s. Lots of instruction. Usually a couple of instructors on each event that would tell you if if you were doing something right or wrong going into a turn for example. Someone was in the car with you to help you get the hang of drifting. For me, in a word, it was AWESOME!!! I have never tracked a car, really don't plan on tracking mine, so getting to tear someone else car up and use their tires, brakes and gas was great. I have never done anything like this type of thing before, and actually being able to drift 1/2 way around the drift circle made me feel I could do what those donkeys on top gear do (I actually can't but I am a legend in my own mind ) It is a bit pricey, IMO, but it was worth it more me since, like I mentioned before, I have only gone fast in a straight line. Hopefully that is a good summary of what I did. It is hard to explain. You do drive a lot, and abuse the cars. Which is awesome to see that our cars can take a lot of abuse and keep on going. I was exhausted and sore after the fast day from the fast accelerations, braking and Gs on muscles I don't use much. |

30mph Roll Race.. Z06 vs M6
Here is one of the 2 passes I did at MIR. Z06 vs M6
https://youtu.be/6S3tizTsZ40 Looks like the Z06 rolled a bit faster than 30mph, but it was a good race. Z06: 128mph M6: 120mph Times were not recorded. Z06 was modded with headers, pulley, X-pipe and a bunch of other shit producing high 600 hp to the wheels!! 1st pass was a roll race with a modded S2000. No trap speed was recorded. S2000 pretty much walked me, which I expected.

On the side note was something going on at Smythe Jewlery off York road in Timmonium today? Rolled by there and saw a couple mean looking Ferraris and group of guys standing by the road cheering for burn outs and debauchery lol |

Yeah, packed house. Facebook had 2,400 people that went! Most didn't stay for the whole event because there were too many "slow" cars lol
