I wanted to swap pads...got stuck. Need direction
If my rear brake sensor is in pristine condition, can I zip tie it to the side so I can run my brake pads? Basically I don't want that damn sensor....
I was about to swap my OEM pads for track pads (Ferodo) and found out that the slot for the wear sensor is too thick on the Ferodos so I can't slip it in. I can Dremel it most likely but it won't fit as is. I will be swapping pads a lot. Do I need to run that sensor? Can I just slip it up somewhere and tie it to a brake line or something? also there is no sensor in the front right? On a better note I bled my brakes Thanks! Tom |

I just zip tie the sensor away if it doesn't fit. Which enthusiast really needs a low brake pad warning light anyway ...
There is a front and rear sensor. Two total each car. One on each axle, forgot if it was driver's side or passenger. |

Thanks. These brake sensors are new to me.
My previous track car didn't have them. Good to know. I'll just tie them up somewhere and we should be good to go! I appreciate everyone's input. |

Yes, no problem zip tying the sensor. I actually do this systematically to avoid damaging the sensors when the pads wear down. At the rate I go through pads, I do not need the extra expense of the sensors.
