I wanted to swap pads...got stuck. Need direction

If my rear brake sensor is in pristine condition, can I zip tie it to the side so I can run my brake pads? Basically I don't want that damn sensor....

I was about to swap my OEM pads for track pads (Ferodo) and found out that the slot for the wear sensor is too thick on the Ferodos so I can't slip it in. I can Dremel it most likely but it won't fit as is. I will be swapping pads a lot. Do I need to run that sensor? Can I just slip it up somewhere and tie it to a brake line or something?

also there is no sensor in the front right?

On a better note I bled my brakes

Thanks!
Tom

Yes you can. That's pretty standard for race pads fyi. There is a front one as well.

I just zip tie the sensor away if it doesn't fit. Which enthusiast really needs a low brake pad warning light anyway ...

There is a front and rear sensor. Two total each car. One on each axle, forgot if it was driver's side or passenger.

Thanks. These brake sensors are new to me.
My previous track car didn't have them.

Good to know. I'll just tie them up somewhere and we should be good to go!

I appreciate everyone's input.

Yes, no problem zip tying the sensor. I actually do this systematically to avoid damaging the sensors when the pads wear down. At the rate I go through pads, I do not need the extra expense of the sensors.
