Anyone use Scrape Armor skid plates?
Has anyone has any experience with scrape armor? I’ve always wanted a set of skid plates for my lowered cars, and these seem promising. I normally don’t scrape, but there are those unavoidable situations, valet, dealer, etc.
Yes. I know. They are expensive. https://www.scrapearmor.com/products...3-m4-2014-2016 (I am not affiliated with the company, just looking to see who has had experience and possibly can share pics and advice) Thanks in advance

I think I would personally just get a front lip. May not cost much more if it isn't carbon fiber. To each his own.

Front lip was an option, but they all protrude out too far. Maybe the M Perf. lip would work, but I don't like the look on a white car. RKP lip would be great, but I don't want to spend $1400 just to possibly demolish a lip. 3D... looks like it sticks out a tiny bit far...

Hmmmm.... ironically, by installing these you are effectively damaging your bumper since you are adding holes for the screws and adhesive. Kinda pointless imo. Just get a lip from ebay and think of it as a disposable bumper protector.

It does look like a good product and a great option for those who don't want to get a lip. I think if I were to keep my car stock (or go back to stock), I would pick up a set.
Alvinized52 is kinda right though; you will be effectively drilling even more holes than pretty much any lip on the market. |

I don't cringe because I consider my lip a "consumable". Skid plate or lip, doesn't matter to me; they both would sound bad when they scrape.

But they are still expensive. I do believe I saw them listed somewhere that weren't carbon and not so expensive, though.

True, i guess it just comes down to breaking off the lip as I have several steep/long drive ways to go through. A lip just won't work with the drop.

By the way, my new CF lip sticks out more than my previous Status Gruppe lip... and my buddies M Performance. I thought it wasnt going to last very long... but ironically, i scrape way less than i did before. I realize it sits higher than what i had previously even though its out more. I love my new lip... but ive also accepted its a "consumable" piece. Pics of my car are on my build thread link on my signature below.

ScrapeArmor.com lists $450 for the F80 kit but I received a quote for $900 installed from one authorized installer and $650 from another - so it pays to call around especially when one figures dealer cost would be approx $300 for the kit. Labor time is 1.5-2hrs.

Also in regards to install you dont need a lift. Jack stand or ramps work no problem. Is all you need is a powerdrill and call it a day. vividracing sales@vivid

Start with Center piece, using the 3 OEM holes to line up, then drill the rest Next the sides....Use Silcone to temp hold in place, and drill holes Drill one time and once you drill screw in leave it...Drilling in the bumper will quickly strip it...I went and bought some longer Machine screws about half inch with nylon locking nuts...contemplating putting them on for piece of mind
