Advise for newbie...
Hi,
I’ve seen an M5 F10 for sale from a main dealer, but the first service was at 4600 miles. Should I steer clear? As the running in service was missed, they won’t provide a full BMW warranty, but the dealer will provide their own warranty which is very comprehensive and covers everything! The car is on 50k on a 14 plate, and had disc and pads replaced at 16,000. Does this sound wrong? Lastly the dealer priced with the full BMW warranty as they thought the service history was full, as it isn’t what should I push to be taken of the price? Th car is up for circa £37k. Thanks for the help and sorry for all the questions🙂. Nick Last edited by nickd911; 11-09-2017 at 04:11 PM.. Reason: Spelling |

mate the M5 is bulletproof. i delayed my running in service due to being away and put an additional 2k miles over the running in service. mines now on 32k and its fine. i wouldn't worry about it

If the dealer won't provide a full BMW warranty, you should walk away, because after the dealer provided warranty expires you may find it difficult to purchase an extended warranty.
Also £37k for a 2014 with 50k miles is not a bargain, but if you are set on buying the car, £31k max with a 2 year warranty seems a reasonable offer. |

My car is a competition pack late 2014, 64 plate with 14k miles with run in service and two services since, I am trading the car in and have settled on £37k when buying a £90+k 911, some Porsche dealers were offering as low as £33k..... my car also has a service pack until 2019...... I know dealers make money BUT when you come to trade in or sell in say 3 years time, how many people will just walk away due to the lack of run in service ? a LOT, I know I would
