Wanna do M Perf HAS, will iStep upgrade override Tune?

i have Hex Tune (done back in the bench flashing times of old) and now wish to get BMW M Performance HAS.

I have never allowed my dealership to plug the car in because I don't wish to be flagged or worse, have the tune overwritten and the DME locked up.

I want to avail myself of the i Step upgrades that allow the HAS springs to function properly and also improves the handling, etc.

Will doing a firmware/i Step upgrade impact the tune? Will BMW be able to see the tune? I am not knowledgeable in these matters except for what I have read on these forums.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone think it's worth it? I can always retune the car. I am really not crazy about the handling of my May, 2016 non-ZCP car.

I could update the software, do m perf HAS, and then reruns through the odb2 (I would redo hex tune). Am I crazy to suggest such a course of action?

not at all.. there was lots of coding done on the EDC for even the non ZCP models.
do the MP HAS, hands down one of the best mods i have done.
the spring rates on a CIVIC m3/m4 are junk.

get it all coded and do OBD hex tune bud.

Wow. Even with the risk of getting flagged with a flash tune it's still worth it? Thanks!

You will have to take your car to the dealership eventually. If you get flagged now you would have gotten flagged in the future unless I'm missing something. Flash to stock before going in to reduce the chance of getting flagged. VF has OBD capability now so if the dealership locks your DME, you can see if they will work with you to get you a cable since you are already a customer of theirs.

Looking forward to seeing your ride in the MP HAS thread!
