H&R sport springs and NYC

anyone here run H&R or similar in NYC?

i have them in my garage but reluctant to install, i rub the lip on my driveway and these roads don't inspire much confidence.

front wheel gap is driving me nuts sometimes

what is your experience and if possible i'd like to meet and see the difference in person.

If you rub your lip with the OEM height, you're gonna have a bad time with H&R because they lower the car quite a lot.

Speaking of lowering the car a lot.... when you lower your car that much and increase the spring rates that much on your stock dampers, you will be sorry. H&Rs right like shit on the stock dampers right out the gate. You'll be bouncing around everywhere and everyone that rides in your car will wonder what the hell is wrong with your car. Soon after, your stock dampers will give out and you'll bottom out every where. From what I hear, NYC has pretty crappy road conditions so it isn't gonna be fun.

If you want to close the wheel gap a little bit with springs while retaining a reasonable ride quality, there are many other spring kits available. Others won't lower your car as much as H&Rs, but I think that's a good thing in your situation.

If you want to up the game a little bit, look into getting a height adjustable kit.

Here's a master list of a bunch of lowering products available for the M3/M4.
