Dinan Front Monoball Bad After Less than 4K Miles

I have a 2015 M3 with MP Has, Dinan Front Monoball, Dinan Front and Rear Sway Bar, and Dinan Rear Link Kit. I've had this clunking/grinding noise from the front drivers side when turning the steering wheel. Mainly when backing up out of my driveway. The dealer diagnosed it as the Dinan front Monoball on the drivers side being bad. Keep in mind this is not my daily driver and have driven less than 4K miles on this setup in the last 10 months. Luckily Dinan stepped up and is covering this under warranty. Hopefully this is an isolated incident and not a quality control problem. Has anyone else had their Dinan front Monoball go out on them already? At this point I'm wondering how many times am I going to be having this same in the future. For the prices they charge, you would expect a better quality product.

I had a clunk start occurring about 1 month after the dealer installed them.
i could actually feel when when I went to brake and then start back up.
Took it back to the dealer.
The jacked it up on the lift and told me it was a bad.
They told me not to drive it and call Dinan.
I said, just give me the car back.

So.. I went back to the waiting room for a bit.
They brought the car out and guess what? No clunks. Not a sound since. (2 years ago) not a single problem. They admit to doing "Nothing"

In my opinion, it was loose and they tightened it up, just didn't want to admit they screwed up. I say check the tightness before you do anything else.

The "Grinding" part of your question does bother me....

The dealer actually installed all of the suspension parts. They are covering all the labor and Dinan is covering the part. I'll let them replace it and hopefully everything is good. I asked them to show me the old one once it's replaced.

I have the same issue with as the OP, mostly when reversing out of the driveway (down an incline) and turning the wheel. But now, finding that when I brake, occassionally, I hear the same grinding sound, like ball bearings being crushed, steering feels fine. I had the dealer check and they could not find anything but spent a lot of time tightening stuff up. I think I'll take it to my local speed shop and have them check it out....

Were you able to figure out what the issue was? Planning on getting a set.

My issue ended up being an installer error. They forgot loctite. Once they figured out the issue, I've had no problems or extra noises since.

Nope, not yet, I'll get it checked out in the spring, the car is going in garage for the winter...
