Fixing dents and paint chips.

So, I walked out to my 2015 LSB M3 today to find some nasty dents in the right rear door. After the immediate rage subsided I set to finding a remedy.

I have thought of two ways to address the damage. Option A: Just drop it off at a body shop and let them fix it, or Option B: Do paintless dent repair then fill in the chipped areas with touch up paint and polish flat.

Does anyone have any experience with dents like this? If so, what did you find to be the best fix? I'm in search of guidance on this.

I hate this stuff. Some people just don't care.

Anyway, PDR all the way and professional chip repair (or Langka/Dr. Color Chip).

GL!

PDR.

If you paint, it will have to be blended into the rear QTR panel as well as its too close to the edge to not stand out.

UPDATE: I had PDR done yesterday morning. Cost me $200 and am pleased with the results. I will update you guys again after I apply touchup paint. I got the BMW kit.

I also got an estimate from a local body shop. Due to the location of the dent it would require a lot of man hours to respray. Estimate was in the ballpark of $1200.

Every time I see a PDR repair it blows my mind. That is a skill I'd love to have.

That is a really small one, I once had a guy repaired my Z4 rear quarter panel dent the size of a tennis ball (don't ask how). It truly is an art
Anyhow, some Dr. Color Chip and you are good as new
