Just got a 2018 F80- what do you recommend I add to it?

Hey Guys,

Just purchased a 2018 M3 competition package. Wondering what add ones or modifications you would recommend? Looking mostly for aesthetic features. Don’t care to add more HP/power. It’s amazing as is!

Thanks,
WG

Hi mate.

Great car and colour. My suggestions are

Exterior

1. M performance carbon fibre front lip and splitters.
2. M performance carbon fibre Mirrors
3. M performance carbon fibre rear wing and diffuser.

Forget aftermarket - go OEM.

Interior

1. Carbon steering cover
2. Carbon gear lever
3. Carbon stereo surround (Dinmann).

Forget aftermarket - go OEM.

Must do coding.

Code on start stop memory.
Code off warning chime on entry.
Code off seatbelt warning.

Think about a clear ppf film front and sides.

These will make the car perfect.

I think the m performance carbon fibre will really pop against that red.

Here is my take

Tint
Drop on springs
12mm spacers
Lightweight front lip
MP side skirts
Pick your rear diffuser
Pick your exhaust tips
AA midpipe
MP V2 steering wheel
MP Alcantara armrest
MP Alcantara handbrake lever

Bonus: track wheels and tires

Congrats on the buy! Very nice color.

I also agree on all OEM Mperformance carbon goodies. Nothing looks and fits better IMHO.

I also just recently picked up an F80 M3 last week and just saw your post. When you say "Code", is this something we need to purchase a secondary device to code? Or can we do it right in the center console interface?

Sorry for the noob question, I just haven't seen anything about "coding" since picking up the car and starting to research.

Yes mate you need to buy an additional coding device.

I purchased BimmerCode from the App Store and a vgate obd wifi adapter from amazon.

Takes 30 seconds to code these items

Cheers

Best advice here. Save your money. Go to M school first.
Then mod from there.

So little to add to earlier recommendation:

- Rear diffuser (just emphasizing how good the car is going to look)
- Red seatbelts to match the exterior color

Any recommendations on where to get some of the exterior stuff?

Also I’ve been reading about vehicle wraps and clear masks. Not sure what the difference is tho. I’m reading names like Xpel, modesta suntek etc.
any good links where I can get more educated on these products?

This is my first M3, I’m feeling overwhelmed but definitely excited

Agreed with others that tint and lowering springs will instantly make it look more aesthetically pleasing.
