CF Front Diffuser fit issues

So this just arrived and upon a dry fit...seems a bit too much off. Is this expected and needing dremel work?

Just looks like a poorly fitting part to me, not sure if any dremel work will help, looks incorrectly shaped, unless an edge is pushing it out of shape.

Thats what I thought too. No force is being applied in the pic. If I force 1 side...skews the other side. If fitting in the middle, ends should line up.

Seller away until Monday. Will play with it a bit more...but I dont think it will fit proper unless I do alot of trimming. And even then, not 100% sure it will fit proper. Might just order the RW Carbon one direct and return this one.

That's part of the risk with these EBay parts. You just don't know what they are or where they came from.

Sorry you're going through this. It isn't fun.

Yeah, but if noted no cutting or "professional install required"..."should" be a proper fit....get your damn mold right.

Here is installed. The only way I see to fit the corners more proper is to do some trimming. Going to wait to hear a reply back before I break out the dremel. Not "too bad", but enough to not look proper.

not too bad BUT i had the same problem with that lip from Ebay also. Returned it the next day and went straight to JL. Fits spot on, only thing i had to do was drill my own holes on the lip.

I’ve just purchased a similar one, to replace one I cracked on the motorway.
The design has changed, they have moved to a slimmer carbon fibre design and I think their tool isn’t perfect. Going to similarly return my part.
I love my old splitter but not willing to spend £500 on a RKP one. Who is JL?

I purchased from RW carbon - no issues whatsoever and I believe they are currently on sale. Good Luck

Do NOT Dremel that. That's really bad fitment and you should return that ASAP. If you were to modify it, you'll lose the clear coat for sure and the finish won't look clean.

I believe JLmotoring and RW carbon have the same supplier. I went with JLmotoring just becuase they were a little cheaper and open at the time.

I agree that the shape (moulding) looks a bit off.

Are fixing screws used to mount the lip? If so, are you supposed to put them in these areas to provide a more 'snug' fitment?

i dont think you are going to bend that CF to fit via screw-mounting.

Think about it: You are mounting CF to a plastic bumper. It'll be your bumper that will bend more than your lip will. Not worth forcing a shitty mould to 'fit'. They just need to send you another one, or go with a different company for the lip.

It is being sent back for a refund and I'll be going with JL or RW. Only about an additional $100 or so more.

True - I was thinking there might bit a little bit of flex in it however that might enable it to sit a little more neatly if there is any potential to fasten it at the edges.

Nice fit and that carbon looks a killer especially on Singapore grey colour. You wrapped your side vent surrounds yet..
