Grid guard cracking buckets

I lay them flat in the buckets. They only go midway down and end up splitting the bucket after a short time.

Any advice on how to avoid this?

You're going to want the proper sized buckets. The white, no logo, buckets from lowes/HD meant for food prep are great for car wash buckets.

Post what Grit Guard you're using.
I have never seen a 5Gal bucket that varied from the standard size, so Im going to assume the placement is due to the actual guard itself, and they come in different shapes and sizes.

Get better buckets, go to your ace hardware and get the white buckets like stated above.

Just bring the grit guard in with you when searching for a bucket and test fit it, thats what I did. I got 2 buckets from ACE Hardware (white one with their logo on it).

Or.... over complicate things even further, and buy some egg-crate to do your own Grit Guard DIY!
