Yeah, every time you repair a bend the structural integrity gets worse.
I have 666M wheels and I've hit a few potholes thinking "yep there's gonna be a bend in that one" after but they're all still straight and true. I think they're pretty strong for what it's worth (437M have bigger sidewall too). |

Keep an eye on eBay. I found deals on used 437M wheels from different sellers and created my own set last year. Got them all powder coated satin black afterwards to match.

I look through all the pics, description, and the seller's rating. Like if they have a 95% rating and sold like 50+ items. eBay's good protecting buyers too in case a refund is needed. I've even gotten a refund after the 30 day return period before.

To not assume anything, what air pressures are you running? Too low and/or stiffened suspension might contribute to your problem.

Wow. Almost everything is subjective and relative eg how bad a pothole is or how hard you might have hit it but I find both the 437s and the 666s to be very VERY tough. Maybe its time to change that wheel.
BTW I've had both Continentals and Michelins on my 437s without issues. |

It's NY bro… You guys have potholes down inside the potholes! Last time I came back from Brooklyn my teeth and neck hurt.
Consider going to 18" wheels so you have more tire sidewall. More sidewall has better grip potential too.

Interesting.. I had a really unlucky year where I first hit a tree in the road.. two tires blew out immediately and I had to drive on the 437 rims/what was left of the rubber for 1 mile (it was a one lane rd with no places to pull over except for off a dark 400 ft cliff. Neither rim was bent. Then, later that year, I was driving on the freeway and a huge chunk of metal from the opposing lane's construction work flew from their work zone and I had no time to move so had to hit it resulting in two more blow outs. Still not one bent rim. Perhaps it was a lucky year. Especially since blowouts on the freeway are usually not a fun experience from what I hear.

This is the right answer. Grab a set of 513M's and call it a day. NY roads are not M car friendly.

Ny roads suck. Southern state, northern state and belt parkway have crater size potholes. You literally can’t switch lanes without falling into a hole or damaging your rim.
Pay so much taxes and they can’t even fix the road. After the last snow storm there were six cars on the shoulder of the northern all with blowouts. I had the 437s with mpss and Contis and never had a problem. |
