Ok just how freaking long can we sit at the docks?

Sorry, vent post. Car has been there since 4/29. 6 Ships have come and gone. Today is 5/8 where another ship was supposed to come in and it looks like I'm not on that one as well. I am waiting to go to the east coast <TX>. According to a ship schedule there is not another one due for another week? Just how long do they leave out cars sitting out there?

My car was finished on 4/17 and didn't get loaded on a ship until 5/4. So about 2 1/2 weeks for me.

I'm in the same boat (figuratively, lol). My car was finished on the 28th and arrived at the docks a week ago (or maybe it was on Monday, I'm not sure). The fedora leaves tomorrow, I'm hoping I am on it, but more likely I'm guessing I'll be on one of the ones that leaves on the 15th.

Yeah I had a chance to make a boat that left a week earlier, the Turandot, and thought for sure I'd be on it. But unfortunately I was not.

Weird thing was another poster, who's production date was a day after mine (4/18), said that he did make make the Turandot. So I'm not sure how they choose which cars make the ship and which ones don't. My only guess is that he bought his from a bigger dealer and that BMW gives preferential treatment to those bigger dealers.

My car finished on the 25th, but didn't actually make it to port until the 30th, if I recall correctly.

It's been at the port since. :-( I really want my car by the end of this month. In the meantime, I've opted to drive a free '92 Pontiac. I have a feeling my appreciation for the 128 is going to be HUGE.

(edit: I'm also an east-coaster. Our ships tend to at least come faster than the west coast folks.)

The world can die. Tomorrow marks three weeks since I put down a deposit now with no production number. By my guess I won;t get it til August. 3 + months I bet.

Nope, didn't even know what that was. In fact, didn't join this board until after I put the deposit down and THEN found out about it. Of course my CA told me nothing other than "June delivery" to which he's lately said "July"...but man...I haven't even started yet. I bet it'll be August. This is a very profitable dealership too, I'm shocked they don't have an allocation right now. What really bugs me is they've already charged my card for the $1000 deposit.

Just to give you a ballpark: Mine finished production April 1st, didn't leave on a ship until around April 19th. Just sat at the dock being lonely.

Should arrive at my dealer TOMORROW!! (ordered first week of March) FINNNAAAAALLLYYYY!!!

Yeah. At least when you're on a boat you know the car is making forward progress. Sitting on the dock for 2+ weeks really sucked.

My car left Germany on May 2th. it supposed to arrived in Halifax Canada on the 14Th. Then the ships goes ton NYC and NJ

This has been said before, but if you're in doubt, make sure your order is marked priority one. This means the car is "customer sold" and will get priority treatment at the docks, VPC, etc. Some folks have reported that their sales person didn't even know how to change a dealer order to a customer priority 1 order.

Mine was definitely Priority 1 (I have the Vehicle Inquiry Report) and I still sat at the docks for over 2 weeks. I've read that they are giving Priority 1 M3s preference on the ships over other models. So if there are a lot of pre-sold M3s sitting on the dock with you then they might make a boat ahead of you.
