Dealers and Ads on the car
I've only ever owned one car in my life and my dealer didn't do this, but I see plenty of cars driving around with ads for the dealers stuck on them in form of plastic badges on the rear of their car (similar to the badges that say the make or model). Some places even seem to stencil an ad on the back in paint (or maybe it's some sort of stick-on plastic). I do not want my dealer to do this to my new 135i although I don't know if my dealer even does this or not yet. Has anyone had issues with this. If I ask the dealer not to stick anything or paint on the car, will he listen? Or will he say no because he will lose out on the advertising opportunity? Honestly, I'm shocked that anyone would allow a dealer to deface their new car like that and I can't believe it is so commonly done.

I told my CA, sent him an e-mail and will tell him again a few days before the car gets here.
No Dealer Advertising on the car. Do not wax the car. No front licenses plate mount. If any of these thins are on the car the deal is off. There is some company that will pay you to put advertising on your car so why not the dealer if they want to put there advertising on the car.

When I picked up my X3 about 3 years ago, the stealer had a sticker on my car even though I'd specifically stated no stickers. I then requested annual and/or monthly remuneration to advertise for them, and before I could finish my sentence, the sticker had been removed!

I forgot to ask to not put on the decal so I peeled it off when I got home. No harm done.

What is about not having them wax the car? I have seen this comment a few times? Thanks.

gio, what BMW center did you go to? My CA at BMW Gallery Norwell didn't even bother trying to put one on my car, including a license plate frame. In Massachusetts, you have to sign an agreement that you approve of them putting their adverts on your car. They should ask you first, but just tell your CA that you do not want that.

and I don’t want to deal with them over it. I am the only one that buffs my vehicles. I also don’t have them wash my cars on a service since I do not use brush car washes. I will use clay bar and several coats of Zaino and post some pics and you will know what I mean.

I happen to like what Classic BMW puts on there car. Its a great looking Texas flag (not a sticker ) The only thing that said Classic is the plate holder.

Everybody stand and salute the Texas flag. I may be in Colorado but my heart is in Texas.

I requested that they get my inspection sticker for me, and not to put the plate on the front of it... which they did for me. I don't have a green plate, and have driven with one plate on my cars for many years without a problem.

This is the front plate holder. I didn't care about holes, so I let them do what they do. I'll look closely at it later to see if they drilled. amy! |

Make sure you BMW Peabody buyers tell your dealership that you want to be invited to the Mini event they have at the Service Center every Fall.
I help to run the event (catered lunch, autocross, and defensive driving skills exercises), and we always have a incredible time there. One of my favorite events of the year where you see so many people getting bigger and bigger smiles as the day progresses... |
