Today is the Day

My girlfriend and I arrived in Munich yesterday via train. We took a walk down to the BMW Welt to check out all the buildings in the area (I'm a bit of an architecture nut). Last night I literally lost sleep over the idea of picking up my brand new 135i. I'm so excited to take this thing out on the Autobahn

I'll have pictures from the Welt up later today hopefully!

Man I know I'm going to lose sleep the night before I go to pick mine up too. It's like Christmas eve when I was a kid.

Dan
I found myself tossing and turning so much that I just decided to do some business work for a few hours to help me fall asleep lol

Christmas Eve has NOTHING on "Welt-mas Eve"

Oh my dear LORD! Today is seriously in contention with the best day of my life. I won't bother writing a review about how amazing the car drives since that's been covered about 1234987304732742 times. So I'll focus mostly on the Welt.

Our Delivery specialist was Bernhard and he was AMAZING. He even recorded me doing my victory lap which was so cool to me. It's awesome to be able to watch it from an outside perspective. I would have posted these videos but like a jackass I left the software for my camcorder in Orlando. He also took a bunch of extra photos for us with my camera so that me and my girlfriend could both be in the pictures.

They really do go above and beyond any expectations anyone could have.
From the moment you walk in it's just overwhelming. We missed the last English factory tour which sucked. However, the lady that checked us in gave us a free parking voucher for tomorrow so we can do the tour before we leave Munich.

When we were walking down the stairs and first saw my car spinning and shining it was enough to make my eyes swell. It was so surreal that it was MY car dancing in front of me. It took a great deal of restraint to not go barreling down the stairs to meet her.

After our Virgin Lap as Bernhard called it, we had the car parked and went to dinner. The dinner was alright and I was somewhat surprised at the low quality of the service. Perhaps it was just our waiter. It wasn't like it was a bad experience, but I've gotten better service at an Olive Garden. When he took away our plates after we were done, instead of bringing us the bill he was chatting up one of the female waitresses and picking his teeth. This went on for about 10 minutes before another waiter came up and asked us if we wanted our bill. We said yes and not even 30 seconds later we had it. So this second waiter ended up getting the tip instead of our original one. Not just because of the bill, but because the waiter was somewhat rude with my girlfriend and neither of us appreciated that. Let's face it though, nobody goes to the Welt because of the food! So this was not enough to change my opinion of the Welt or it's staff.

We stopped at the Welt gift shop where we proceeded to spend more money that I thought possible in one store But a lot of this stuff was for other people (birthday presents, etc). I picked up a sweet little 135i model to help pass the wait time after I drop the car off.

Not wanting to risk anything happen on the maiden voyage (call me superstitious) we went straight back to the hotel and parked her safely underground. Now I'm here writing this post. It's now time to run down to the garage and play with my new toy!

Here are the pictures from today:

That sounds pretty damn cool, minus the waiter thing. Now, you're left with the long, excruciating wait of shipping!

Canon Rebel XTi with the stock lens. All the pictures were shot in automatic though because I wasn't the one taking the shots (and for some reason, Photoshop on my laptop won't open RAW images.

LOL thanks, I think I've gotten more compliments on my GF than the car so far

As for the 1 series, it sure can't hurt with getting the ladies!

Sorry for going more into camera questions now, but are those the full resolution for the pictures or did you resize/crop them down. I'm still in the compare and contrast stage of getting a camera. I really don't know why I'm looking at the starting ones anyways since I plan on moving up to a more pro one, aka 1.5-2.3k.
They are still nice shots though.

These have been resized WAYYYY down. The pictures if they weren't resized are roughly 3900 x 2600 pixels big. I'd be happy to answer any more questions about the camera if you want to PM me.

Congrats Kyle - the car (and the girlfriend*) looks great!

I love seeing all these new ED reports - makes my wait seem to go a bit easier!

*Don't tell my wife I said that... if you're reading this honey, I love you...
