Not that I know, but you can buy a standar GPS antenna and keep it under the dash, just behind the screen. Works perfectly from there and is a lot easier than running a cable from the Navi unit to the roof.

Yes, after installing you will need to code everything. The radio, MP3s and some car information, will work immediately after proper installation; but you will need to code in order to have the car communicate with the new devices and to have all functions activated. i.e: TPM, warning messages, etc.

I did the installation myself and took the car to the BMW dealer for coding. If your car came from factory with 2 cupholders (like mine), then you will need to replace the center console in order to be able to put the Idrive controller where it goes. Look at this:

That's the '08 iDrive. You can tell by the flip up screen and the controller doesn't have the additional "quick pick" buttons (radio, cd, nav, phone)

I'm not 100% sure, my car is 2008 and it worked fine. There have not been changes in the car since the facelift in 2007, so I guess it would.

But maybe one of the BMW gurus could confirm/correct... anyone??

Good luck on the sale and your career venture! Although I feel bad for whoever buys your former 1er. Sounds like they will have a car with a big hole in the center of the dash?

Of course not, the car looks exactly the same as new. My car has the storage package and it has a tray in the place where the screen goes. same exact fit so I didn't have to cut anything

Thanks

I don't live in Miami, but yes the parts ship from there.

About the stock parts: yes I have them all, actually the car is already back to stock; I just sold the Professional headunit that came from factory and had to buy one, but that's now installed too... still need to code though.

Thanks
