Watermark stains on bonnet
Hi all,
I washed my car on the weekend and dried it off with a chamois cloth as per usual. Upon closer inspection of the bonnet i noticed what appeared to be dried up water droplet marks. I tried to wipe the area again with the moist chamois cloth but alas the water marks seem stained onto the paint and will not come off. I only washed the car the week before and didn't notice these marks -- any ideas what caused this, and more importantly, what's the best way to get these marks off? It's most noticable when you look at the bonnet on a 30 degree angle. Any help would be much appreciated! p.s. I've been lazy and haven't yet clayed or waxed, but it's definitely on the to-do list! wax will not remove water marks. try to clay bar, if that doesnt work try vinegar, if that doesnt work you will need a light polishing

clay might do it, but then you'll most likely need to polish out any marring anyways. I'd hit it with a buffer and some Menz polish. This will almost definintely do the trick.

honestly I'd try vinegar first... if your car doesnt need a polish, dont polish... also take a look at the detailing guide stickied here... it has good tips for that sort of thing.
