Need help: plastic melted to exhaust...
I was driving from Houston to Dallas last weekend and was between 2 cars. Unfortunately, I ran over a very large piece of cellophane (thin plastic used for wrapping up boxes or misc. crap)
Anyways I had to pull over on the side of the road because the cellophane went under my car and stuck to all 4 tips of my very hot exhaust pipes... I had no choice but continue the drive for another 3 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to removed melted very hard plastic from chrome exhaust pipes? Ive tried peeling it off with my hands and googone but no luck. Thanks! -Mack

ugh. Maybe try using acetone or Xylene on a very cool exhaust sustem. They are both very strong solvents and will dissolve some plastics.
Wear gloves if you are gonna try and make sure the area is well ventilated. |

Xylene for sure will work. That stuff is celophane/plastics' WORST enemy, i know this from experience. 25% of our inventory (comm. construction) consists of Xylene, Its super strong.
Oh and be sure to wash your hands after, stuff is veyr harmful to your body
