Winter Tires for your e92 M3??
Okay since my loving spouse has appropriated my SUV now I'll be in my M3 all year round...which isn't a bad thing either I guess. LOL So I have 19" ContiContact 3 sport on there now and they're great and my good ole 18" OEMs are in my garage waiting to part with their original Michelin PS2 rubber for a set of nice dedicated winter tires or some All Season rubber.
Anyway wanted to ask what you guys were using last winter as we've been thru one winter season with our m3's and what performance you guys did or didn't see with your choices. Am leaning toward AS M+S as we don't really get much deep white stuff here but then again we did have that nice blizzard what last Feb at the end of the month didn't we that was unexpected. On my last e46 I did go with dedicated winter rubber from Oct thru Spring...too bad I traded it in Aug before I got to actually use them! So I am clueless...thoughts anyone?

You're right a definite MUST if you are to drive the ///Mmm all year round.. my small summer tire incident on a wet cold surface last year with the guys definitely prove to me the importance of seasonal tires. I found tirerack comprehensive tire rating and customer reviews invaluable.. ..
same analysis here Rob, one thing for sure I found out about tires are where one has weakness in one area it has strenght in the other

Yeah Ase..I checked out the tirerack's videos on AS vs dedicated winter tires analyzing performance data, turning radius and braking and stopping and was amazed! It wasn't even deep snow they were testing in and the fact that they seemed to be using 328i's definately got my attention! Although we have great machines; I will be adding dedicated winter tires around end of Oct to my M3 but purchasing them probably by mid Sept!

Where did you get them? I couldn't find a set and tirerack was out of fronts at least!

Blizzacks have been discontinued. Found only 1 front in the US. Ordeeed it but no additional front tires locally are avail so I'd have 1 front and a set of rears? I am told the LM25 is now replaced by the Bridgestone Blizzak LM-60 however sizing is different with 245/40 R18 up front replacing the 235/40 R18 sizing. Am still looking but only thing avail in the recommended staggered sizing would be Pirelli's at almost $300 a tires!
I may have an extra front Blizzak for sale soon though Blade929!

winter tires make all the difference i have to say and the 245 sizing should be right since i got 245/40/18s on the front and 255/40/18 on the rear last year. We dont get much snow here so staggered is fine. the ps2s became rocks when the cold weather hit which was definitely not fun.

I have 19s on my car and would like to get winter tires. Seems like I'll have to get new wheels too -- just wondering if anyone has any thoughts on wheels. Should I pick up a set of OEM 18s (and what's the best way to do that?), or are there any other wheels that are good (and hopefully look good enough) for our vehicles for winter use? The offerings on TireRack seem to require spacers, which I'm not sure I like.

Am not going AS but am getting winters IF somebody ever gets a full set of fronts and backs in stock. It seems everyone seems to have fronts but now back or back but no fronts in this sizing. AM being told wait till Oct to look when they make more of em...but something tells me that also is double speak to "wait till we jack the prices up by $20-$40/tire in a month or so when it gets colder and everyone is looking for them!" So that's why I am tryin to find mine set now!
Got OEM's originally and always planned to put snows/winters on them and used the $1900 I saved on my 19" set of aftermarkets which cost me basically the same in the VMR 710 set I picked up last Dec!
